It doesn’t get much cuter then this on our site, little Kaiyah was less than a week old when we did this shoot. Her mum bought the cutest colorful tutu especially for Kaiyah’s first photo shoot. You might not believe it but I actually knitted the neutral beige cocoon she’s in with some help from my mum and sister and obviously Google. The things I’d actually do for a good pic... Results of being a perfectionist = knitting

Meera was meant to only arrive around the 15th of October but she decided September was far better than October. We shuffled our dairy around to be able to fit her in, since she arrived quite early. We did this newborn photo shoot on a Sunday afternoon, meera was just a week and a half old at the time. She was quite fussy in the start but eventually eased in to it. By the end of the shoot she was smiling and almost posing for the camera. We absolutely love the patterned fabric we shot her on. She really is a perfect spring baby, isn’t she? more images
This had to be the cutest baby ever. He was such a delight to pose and looked so cuddly and chubby. Most moms tell me they have sleepy babies, however there little one tends to surprise them and me on the day by being totally alert to every move I make. Which makes it rather difficult to get a nice peaceful sleepy baby shot. However this cutie was the best he slept throughout the shoot. Every time I changed the pose and his position he got comfy and slept again, giving me enough time to get the perfect shot. And through all this sleeping he would give the cutest smiles. I wonder if the sleepiness has anything to do with him being a boy, as he is the 1st boy I’ve shot. One the other hand Mitesh felt totally sorry for him (I have no idea why) Mitesh gets totally nervous when I handle babies, his more nervous than the mom sometimes….:) Ronewa and his two older brothers Tumi (the little one with the naughty smile) and Lesedi.
We did this kids shoot a month ago when we were down in Durban covering a wedding. The time of day wasn't perfect but there was no other time we could do the shoot. Meekaah was totally scared of the waves and would barely let it touch her toes. Dont you just love the way she poses..:)
This particular little one slept for the duration of 5min, through our entire two hour shoot. I must admit there was not alot of fussing and crying she just watched me the entire time. Below is a image we took during the 5min nap. For more images got to our facebook page
Upon deciding to do this shoot there were a few things that I needed to consider: was I going to faint? throw up? lose my lens on the operating table? slip? Would there be sufficient lighting?…. I was just about to crack under the pressure at the thought of this shoot. Finally, it was the day of the shoot, I arrived at the ward feeling anxious and not quite knowing what to expect. Thankfully Mitesh helped me with directions as I am hopeless when it comes to finding my way. I got to meet the most helpful videographer I have ever met( those of you that know me will know what awful experiences I seem to have with video people). However she told me that I wasn’t allowed any bags- that meant I could only take 1 lens. I was defiantly not prepared for this. The anxiety turned into a terrible knot in my stomach. Which of my lenses was I to leave behind? Eventually I made the decision and it was smooth sailing from then onwards. The whole experience turned out to be totally amazing, one of the best experiences of my life. I even got to wear scrubs, which was fun, being the huge greys fan I am…;)
